The Third Grade Safety Belt Program is offered statewide through local law enforcement agencies. The classroom presentation consists of a 30-minute lesson, taught by a uniformed officer. It provides students with very positive interaction with local law enforcement. Students will learn about safety belts through discussion, activities and demonstrations.
Upon completion of the program, students will receive the Safety Belt Deputy pledge to always wear their safety belts and to encourage others to do the same. Each student will also receive special materials and additional information to take home to their parents.
This program creates a good buckle-up habit for life!
